Stortorget, Old Town

Stortorget (Swedish: The Great Square) is a small public square in Gamla Stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. It is the oldest square in Stockholm, the historical centre around which the medieval urban conglomeration gradually came into being. Today, the square is frequented by tens of thousands of tourists annually, and is occasionally the scene for demonstrations and performances. It is traditionally renowned for its annual Christmas market offering traditional handicrafts and food.

Saint George and the Dragon

St George and the Dragon, Sten Sture the Swedish regent to be St George, Danes (King Christian I) the dragon and Sweden the maid/princess to be saved. This statue is at Köpmantorget (Swedish: "Merchant's Square"), a small public square in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. This small square was never used as a market. Instead, when it first appears in historical records on a map dated 1733, it was named after its location on the eastern end of Köpmangatan, the street leading to Stortorget, the square which used to be the main market place in Stockholm for centuries.

Västerås Kunsgsgatan Bridge over Svartån

Kungsgatan at the bridge over Svartån in Västerås. Svartån is a river that has its sources in northern Västmanland, runs to the south-east and flows in Västerås bay of Lake Mälaren in Västerås. Svartån is 91 km long.

In central Västerås multiple dwellings have vertical walls down to the river, one of the most depicted motifs in Västerås.

Västerås Stora Torget

Stora Torget in Västerås is a square in the north-north-west of Västerås. There has been trading around the square since the early 1900s. In the square there is the sculpture Aseaströmmen by Bengt-Göran Broström, where the amount of cyclists who went to and from Vasteras large industrial Asea (now ABB) at shift changes.
